Noble metal thermocouple wire is a type of thermocouple wire made from precious metals, typically used in high-temperature and high-precision temperature measurement applications.
The R type is made of Pt87Rh-Pt, while the S type is made of Pt-Rh10. Both of these types are designed to provide accurate temperature readings in extreme conditions. The R type thermocouple wire is widely used in high-temperature applications, while the S type is commonly used in lower temperature applications.
One of the key benefits of the Noble Thermocouple Wire is its ability to withstand high temperatures. This wire can withstand temperatures of up to 1600°C, making it perfect for use in high-temperature applications. It is also resistant to corrosion, which ensures that it lasts longer than other types of wires.
The main characteristics and advantages of noble metal thermocouple wire are as follows:

1. Regular cleaning:
Sodium borate cleaning: After acid washing, the used noble metal thermocouple needs to be cleaned with sodium borate. Hang the electrode of the noble metal thermocouple on the platinum wire in the annealing cabinet, and then adjust the current to heat the thermocouple electrode to 1100°C. Touch the hot electrode with a lump of sodium borate to make the sodium borate solution flow down along the electrode. After cleaning, gradually reduce the current, and finally cut off the power. Take it down and coil it into a circle with a diameter of 80 mm and put it in a beaker, and boil it with distilled water several times to completely precipitate the borate.
2. Annealing treatment: Annealing is to remove the internal stress in the electrode, improve the crystal phase of the high-temperature noble metal thermocouple, and enhance its stability. There are generally two annealing methods: electric annealing and furnace annealing. By controlling the appropriate annealing temperature and time, the desired purpose can be achieved.
3. Proper storage: When the noble metal thermocouple wire is not in use, it should be stored in a dry, clean, and dust-free environment to avoid being affected by moisture, dust, and other factors. At the same time, it should be stored separately from other metal objects to prevent scratches and collisions.
4. Check during use: Regularly check the connection status of the thermocouple wire during use to ensure that the connection is firm and there is no loosening or oxidation at the connection point. If any abnormalities are found, they should be dealt with in time to ensure the accuracy of temperature measurement.
5. Avoid overheating and overcooling: During the use of the noble metal thermocouple wire, avoid rapid heating and cooling to prevent the thermocouple wire from being damaged due to thermal stress.
