1. Description
FeCrAl (Ferrochrome Aluminum) alloy heating wire is a type of resistance wire used in heating elements, particularly in applications where high temperatures are required. This alloy typically contains iron, chromium, and aluminum as its primary components.

 

2. Fecral heating wire (Fe - Cr - Al alloy heating wire) has the following advantages compared to nichrome wire:

 

Higher operating temperature

 

  • Fecral heating wire can generally operate at a higher temperature. For example, it can work stably at temperatures up to 1400°C, while the maximum continuous operating temperature of nichrome wire is usually around 1200°C. This high - temperature resistance makes fecral wire suitable for applications such as high - temperature industrial furnaces and heat - treatment equipment where high - temperature heat sources are required.

 

 Better oxidation resistance

 

  • Fecral heating wire has excellent oxidation resistance. The aluminum in the alloy forms a dense and stable alumina (Al₂O₃) film on the surface of the wire at high temperatures. This oxide film can effectively prevent further oxidation of the wire interior by oxygen. In contrast, nichrome wire is more prone to oxidation at high temperatures, and as the oxide layer on the nichrome wire surface thickens over time, it may lead to a decrease in the performance of the heating wire, such as an increase in electrical resistance and a reduction in heating efficiency.
