NiCr6015 alloy wire is a kind of nickel-chromium alloy wire with the following characteristics.

Chemical Composition

  • It mainly consists of nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), and iron (Fe), along with small amounts of other elements such as carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), sulfur (S), and phosphorus (P). Typically, the nickel content is approximately 55%-61%, and the chromium content is about 15%-18%

 

Physical Properties

 
  • Resistivity: At 20℃, it has a resistivity of around 1.12 μΩ·m, enabling it to generate sufficient heat when current passes through, making it suitable for manufacturing various resistance elements.
  • Density: With a density of about 8.2 g/cm³, it provides a certain weight and mass characteristics to the wire.
  • Thermal Conductivity: Having a thermal conductivity of 45.2 kJ/m·h·℃, it allows for efficient heat transfer and dissipation, facilitating rapid heat exchange during heating and cooling processes.
  • Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: The coefficient of thermal expansion is 17.0×10⁻⁶/℃, meaning its size changes relatively slightly with temperature variations. This is crucial for applications requiring stable performance at different temperatures, like heating elements in high-temperature furnaces.
  • Melting Point: It has a relatively high melting point of about 1390℃, allowing it to remain solid in high-temperature environments and ensuring reliability in high-temperature applications.
There are many applications of NiCr6015 wire:

Applications:

  • Electrical and Electronic Field: Widely used in the manufacturing of electronic components such as resistors, potentiometers, and heating wires. For instance, it is used as the resistance wire in equipment like dynamic braking starting resistors, neutral grounding resistors, and resistor boxes.
  • Industrial Heating: Serves as heating elements in industrial furnaces and heating equipment. In industries such as metal processing, glass manufacturing, and ceramic firing, it provides high-temperature heat sources.
  • Mechanical Manufacturing: Used to produce mechanical parts that require high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and high strength, such as bolts, nuts, shafts, and gears.
  • Aerospace: Applied in high-temperature components of aerospace engines, such as combustion chambers and turbines, as well as in spacecraft's structural parts and thermal protection systems, due to its ability to withstand extreme high temperatures and complex mechanical environments
