Nickel Alloy Corrosion Resistance Welding Wire — Monel 400 / Inconel 600 / ERNiCr-3

Our nickel alloy welding wire is produced from vacuum melted, ESR refined nickel-base alloys and drawn to precision diameter on spool. Three corrosion resistant grades are available from stock: Monel 400 (UNS N04400), Inconel 600 (UNS N06600) and ERNiCr-3 (UNS N06082). Each grade is dedicated to a different corrosion environment, so the wire can match the base metal of your fabrication without cross-contamination risk.

Why these grades resist corrosion

• Monel 400 (NiCu 30Fe) — high nickel plus copper gives outstanding resistance to seawater, hydrofluoric acid, sulphuric acid and alkaline media. Standard choice for marine fittings, pump shafts and heat exchanger tubes.
• Inconel 600 (NiCr 15Fe) — nickel-chromium matrix resists chloride stress corrosion cracking, high temperature oxidation and carburisation up to 1150 °C. Used for furnace components, thermocouple sheaths and nuclear grade hardware.
• ERNiCr-3 — the matching filler metal for Inconel 600 / 601 / 800 joints and dissimilar welds between nickel alloys, stainless steel and carbon steel. Controlled titanium addition prevents porosity and hot cracking.

Welding process support

The wire runs cleanly on MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) equipment with argon or argon-helium shielding. Recommended current settings, groove design and pre-weld cleaning procedure are supplied with each order. Precision layer winding on the spool keeps consistent feed and limits wire cast and helix deviation to under 1 mm over a 1 m length.

Packing and delivery

Standard packing is 15 kg precision layer wound spool in a moisture barrier bag inside an export wooden case. Smaller 1 kg, 2 kg and 5 kg spools are available for trial orders. Mill test certificate EN 10204 3.1, ISO 9001 quality system and third party SGS inspection can be arranged on request.
